BAFTA Conspiracy?

The BAFTA nominations have been released and they include the list of actors, actresses & films that most people had been expecting.

But wait, take a closer look at you’ll see that ALL but one of the nominations for the leading actor award have names beginning with J! Amongst the Javiers, Jeffs, Jesses & James’, Colin Firth is the only gent whose name doesn’t begin with J.

What does this mean, has the nominations committee gone crazy? Did they all assume Firth will win it anyway so just picked a letter at random for the others and J came up the winner?

Rumours might be spreading through the internet like wildfire, but so far those who run the film awards have declined to comment.

Either way, we’re all film lovers so we’d like to believe it’s just a coincidence. John Travolta’s not in the list.

When The Mines Get Chile!

John Travolta is said to be in talks with a well known Hollywood director to play the part of Mario Sepulveda in a film about the Chilean miners. Initial rumours suggest that the film will be called – ‘When The Mines Get Chile’ although this hasn’t been confirmed. Why not? Well, because we made it up! However in this crazy world we wouldn’t be surprised if it actually happened.

Sly Stallone auditioned for Han Solo role.

It’s emerged that along with a number of other well known actors that Sylvester Stallone auditioned for the role of Han Solo in Star Wars. THANK GOD HE DIDN’T GET IT! The others who we’re in line for the part included; Kurt Russel, Christopher Walken, Nick Nolte, Richard Dreyfus, Robert De Niro and our favourite, John Travolta.

How different things could have been…rumour has it that George Lucas considered changing the character’s name to Han Stallone! … ok we made that bit up.
