Moon was brilliant and no mistaking. In fact we Movie Lovers loved it so much that we were very excited indeed to hear that Duncan Jones (son of Bowie) had been working on a new film, “Source Code”, especially when news that the new trailer had been released.
But, actually having watched it, we’re a bit worried it might be a bit stoopid! Oh No! Let’s hope we’re wrong..
What do you think? Are you going to take your movie date to see it?
So, it’s true movie lover peeps, and we’re secretly really pleased. Heat is saying that Joaquin Pheonix really is a rapper and it’s not all just a cunning ruse to make an interesting documentary. The chap behind the film, Joaquim’s brother in-law, Casey Affleck is telling the world that it’s all true and no one is putting anything on.
Affleck said “To the outside world there were certain media spectacles that were kind of embarrassing for him and cast him in a very negative light, I hope that this film in some way goes towards redressing that balance, and giving a real portrait of him during those times. When it began, I couldn’t foresee all that would happen. I’d be lying if I said that I knew that all the fantastic things in the documentary would take place over the couple of years I spent with him filming, and maybe he would not have wanted me to do so had he known. But he had made a commitment to me and let me see it through.”
Brilliant! It would have been dissapointing to discover Joaquim was trying to pull a fast one. Or is this a double bluff? Oh. Hmm?
How do Movie Lovers. So gents, the search is over. We’ve found it. What every film fan should be wearing to their first date. The bow TIE tuxedo shirt availble from the Star Wars Shop. We want one and we’re pretty sure you do too.
Here is again Movie Lovers. It’s Friday. Strewth, sometimes it feels like it’ll never come! But it has, just in time for our weekly update of movie star tittle tattle where we look and who’s dating who in Hollywood Land & beyond.
First up it looks like the kids are taking this whole PR game way too far and are getting flamin’ well married. Stars of the biggest teen movies around, Twilight & Harry Potter have decided the time isn’t there for the wasting. Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell announced that he proposed last month and she said yes. Oh young love.
Now this is a total yawnfest and Date Movie Lovers tries to avoid getting involved but apparently someone who knows R-Patz & K-Stew told someone who knows Oprah that they are actually going out. Like properly and everything. wait. no. really? us cynical old chaps thought it was all a ruse to get everyone to go to the movies. shame on us.
Finally, this isn’t really dating news but Amanda Seyfried has been talking about how she keeps her long distance relationship going with her boyfriend Dominic Cooper. Well whatever, we just felt we had to mention it because it gives us the chance to highlight her fantastic tattoo! again, and what a great tattoo!
So that’s it movie date lovers, stay tuned for more scintilating gossip facts next week and have a super Friday!
Well, who’d a thunk it. Golden’s out, and Nick & Dave are in, and how chummy they are. Here at Date Movie Lovers we imagine they probably bond over the outrageous amount of Capital Gains Tax they have to pay on the obscene number of properties they own. But wait guys, you’re in charge now! You could make it so you don’t have to pay anything at all! Oh the opportunity!
Anyway, you didn’t come here for political commentary, you came here because you love films so to mark this historic political event we thought we’d look at some movie about elections (oh stop it, it says elections):
Man of the Year
Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (of course!)
Sorry, couldn’t let this go by without some sort of Star Wars reference. Lets just hope things don’t turn out quite as bad as they did then! We’d put money on who’s going to turn out to be Darth Sideous and who’ll be Jar Jar Binks. And Yoda? oh shame, Anne Widdecombe’s resigned. Good luck Movie Lovers!
If ever there was a reason to believe that there is an other worldly deity that plays with our lives lives as if we are just pawns in one great big global chess game, then this could be it. The thing is, it may not be God, Allah, or Buddha who is the ultimate being, but one YA Kaja Sinis and it seems he wants to tell us that all is not well in the world by giving us a sign in the image of his most famous disciple.
Ah no sod it, it’s just a great looking cloud. But listen, you can be the master or mistress of your own destiny and change your life by joining probably the best online dating site for movie lovers on the whole wide web!
It’s a big week this week with Gordon, Dave & Nick vying for your votes on Thursday. But, that is perhaps inconsequential when you consider that today is Star Wars Day, a day that comes above Christmas, Easter and goddamit even the August Bank Holiday Monday, for movie lovers everywhere. So to mark this very special day here are 5 intergalactic factoids (or potatoes!?) flying straight into your browser..

The name of Jawa is simply taken from the Lucas family doctor’s name
The Millenium Falcon was originally inspired by the shape of a hamburger with an olive on the side
In 1996, 37% of the toys sold in the United States where Star Wars products
During The Empire Strikes Back’s famous asteroid scene, one of the deadly, hurling asteroids is actually… a potato
Good morning Movie Lovers, It’s May, the sun is shining (sometimes) and one of the world’s most iconic road signs has been saved by a Playboy tycoon.
So if you don’t know the story, the land where the Hollywood sign sits was under threat of being developed for property and the sign being torn down. However Big Govenor Arnie ‘the schwarz’ Schwarzenegger had a bit of a whip round in order to try and raise the £8.1 million required to protect the land and therefore the sign. It was all looking a bit scary when at the 11th hour Sir Hugh stepped in with a whopping $900,000 donation to save, not only the day, but and an iconic image that’s recognised the world over. Well done Mr Heffner you might think, and you’d be right. What’s more this isn’t the first time he’s come to Hollywood’s rescue, he did it once before in 1978. So, as Joe Mangle might say, ‘on ya wildman!’
But wait, there’s an ironic twist! The sign was originally erected in 1923 to advertise an upmarket real estate development and not the land of wild hope and broken dreams that it has no become. What a crazy world!
