This week sees the nationwide release of Bad Lieutenant, staring the particularly unique Nicolas Cage. In the past Mr Cage’s movies have been a bit hit & miss from the brilliant Kick Ass to the not so brilliant 8mm. He is without doubt an interesting fellow and in homage to the man we wanted to share 10 Cage based factolas with you, the movie lover. So in no particular order….
1.In Vampire’s Kiss he ate 3 live cockroaches (1 for each take)
2.He once owned a pet Octopus
3.He likes castles. In July of 2006 he bought the 500-year-old Schloss Neidstein in the Bavarian village of Etzelwang.
4.In 1997 he paid $500,000 for a Lamborghini built for Prince Ali-Reza Pahlavi, the Shan of Iran
5.He got Johnny Depp his first acting job.
6.He’s the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola
7.He suffers from vertigo
8.His stage is name taken from comic book character Luke Cage (he’s a big comic book fan)
9.He proposed to Patricia Arquette on the day he met her althoug she got scared and avoided him. They met again many years later and eventually got married
10.He’s a BIG fan of Elvis!

Well I never. Claudia Winkleman is to be the new presenter of Film 2010. We quite like Claudia Winkleman here at Date Movie Lovers but is she the right person.. not so sure. I mean she presented the Strictly Come Dancing version 2 programme thing. Does that give you an educated eye on the world of movies? We’ll see.

Can you remember your first date movie? I’m sure we’ve all made some bad decisions, but maybe not as bad as The Hangover star, Zach Galifianakis. He recently told the Hollywood Reporter that his first date at the movies was to see Eddie Murpy’s Raw. Hmm, interesting choice there Zach.
